Vesuvius National Park

Pompeii

Pompeii is one of the most extraordinary archaeological wonders in the world. Buried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D., it now offers visitors a journey back in time through ancient streets, beautifully frescoed villas, and remarkably well-preserved Roman temples.

Salerno

Salerno is an elegant seaside city, with a charming promenade and a historic center rich in culture. It is well-known for the Luci d’Artista—a spectacular Christmas light installation that transforms the city into a glowing work of art—and for its historic Medical School, one of the oldest in Europe.

Paestum

Paestum is a magnificent treasure of the Greek era, home to some of the best-preserved Doric temples in the world. Nestled in the Sele Plain, this archaeological site offers an immersive experience into Magna Graecia, blending history, art, and awe-inspiring landscapes.

Benevento

Itinerary

Day 1 – Vesuvio – Pompeii – Salerno

Arrival at Naples Airport or Salerno Central Train Station, car rental pick-up (other pick-up points available upon request).
Begin with a visit to the Gran Cono of Mount Vesuvius: a unique experience hiking along the crater of an active volcano, enjoying panoramic views of Campania and Lazio. Along the path, fumaroles emit steam, reminding visitors of the volcano’s still active status, though currently dormant.
Option to book a light lunch at a renowned organic estate inside the Vesuvius National Park, offering typical local products and seasonal dishes inspired by Neapolitan culinary tradition, reimagined with a modern twist.
In the afternoon, visit the archaeological site of Pompeii, where you can walk through ancient streets, frescoed villas, and perfectly preserved Roman temples.
Then, transfer to Salerno. Check-in at your hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 2 – Paestum

Breakfast at the hotel, then depart for Paestum.
Visit the Paestum Archaeological Park, home to some of the best-preserved Doric temples in the world.
Option to book a tasting lunch at a buffalo mozzarella farm — a Slow Food-friendly location where you can sample top-quality cheeses and other Cilento specialties.
In the afternoon, visit the National Archaeological Museum of Paestum.
Return to your hotel in Salerno for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3 – Benevento

After breakfast, depart for Benevento.
Explore the historic center, including the Church and Cloister of Santa Sofia (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and the Hortus Conclusus, an open-air museum featuring sculptures by Domenico Paladino, a key figure of the Italian Transavantgarde movement.
Option to book lunch at a restaurant specializing in local cuisine.
Visit the Roman Theatre and the medieval Triggio district, one of Benevento’s oldest neighborhoods, rich in legends and surrounded by Longobard walls.

Day 4 – Caserta
