Naples is a city with a millenary history, in which every corner is a mystery, every alley tells a story, every street has seen artists, writers, musicians who have drawn their inspiration from Naples and have named it as their muse. The historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997, represents the first historic centre in Europe for size and is a treasure trove of monuments, architecture and atmosphere that condense 27 centuries of history. A few kilometres from Naples, of remarkable charm, we find the archaeological site of Pompeii, which since 1997 is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was part of the Ancient Roman Empire, destroyed and buried during the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD.
Moving towards the coast we will have the opportunity to admire the Amalfi Coast, one of the most beautiful walks in Europe, which since 1997 has been a UNESCO heritage site. Amalfi, the ancient maritime republic that gave its name to the entire coast, and Positano, a city suspended between the sky and the enchanting sea. Moving from the coast, towards the inland we will visit the wonderful Benevento: unique in its kind and inimitable in its history. We will admire historical monuments and works of art, including the Monumental Complex of Santa Sofia. To conclude the tour of Campania, we will visit the majestic Royal Palace of Caserta and its park, two jewels of unparalleled splendour.
