Meeting with our tour guide at 10:00 AM at Piazza Santissima Annunziata, 82020 Pietrelcina BN (41.19804160869205, 14.848462038725497), where you will receive a welcome gift (shopping bag, local map, discount vouchers for partner shops, souvenir gadgets).

The experience begins with a visit to the Birthplace of Padre Pio, the home where Francesco was born, which belonged to his father, zì Grazio, located at number 27 Vico Storto Valle. The kitchen has a separate entrance directly onto the street. In this area (number 28) and the adjoining room, initially used as a bedroom for the Forgione children and later as a dining room, much of young Francesco’s domestic life took place.

Next, we admire the Torretta and the Church of Sant’Anna. This small church, a jewel of simplicity and spirituality, is the true “treasure chest” of Padre Pio’s spiritual journey: birth, baptism, confirmation, Eucharistic life, ecstasies, and visions.

We continue with a visit to the Convent of the Capuchin Friars Minor; attached is the evocative Museo Ricordi di Padre Pio, dedicated to the saint’s life and memories. You can imagine him wrapped in swaddling clothes in the cradle where he first cried on May 25, 1887, or sitting at his teacher’s desk working on his school assignments. Here are his garments, shoes, gloves, and the habit he wore starting January 22, 1903, when he left behind the name Francesco Forgione and took on the name Fra Pio da Pietrelcina forever. From then on, his few personal items were those for daily use: chalices, towels, purificators, sacred vestments, stoles, and surplices.

The itinerary ends with a tasting of local wines, olive oil, and products at a nearby winery. End of the tour.
